Cisco Kid Episode 1

Starred Duncan Renaldo as the knight-errant title role and Leo Carrillo (then in hisseventies) as his portly sidekick, Pancho.
Cisco and Pancho saw plenty of action as they galloped around 1890's New Mexico on Diablo and Loco meting out justice to black-hearted villains. They kept violence to a minimum, with Cisco confining himself to shooting guns from his opponent's hands, whilst Pancho was an expert with the whip.. Cisco was a bit of a dandy, dressed in his finely embroidered shirts and silver spurs with a gaint sombrero.. Pancho, however, loved his food. The adventures were played mainly for laughs and Pancho's terrible grip of the English language was used to the full.
Writer O. Henry created the Cisco Kid stories and the character had already appeared on film in the 1920's. Duncan Renaldo had previously played the part in the cinema and was in his 50's when the TV series was made. Leo Carillo was in his 70's. The series was, unusually, filmed in colour

Captain Video Episode
Captain Video and His Video Rangers, which premiered 27 June 1949 on the DuMont Network, was the first science fiction, space adventure program on television and was to inspire a spate of similar offerings. Although it combined many of the early staples of children's programming, such as the inclusion of inexpensive film clips and pointed moral lessons, Captain Video capitalized upon the public fascination with science and space and the technical elements of the new television medium to create the longest running science fiction show in early television.

The Case of The Talkative Dummy
Adventures of Superman was the first television series featuring the comic book superhero Superman. The series, which was syndicated rather than being tied to a network, began filming in 1951, and was first aired on September 19, 1952. The final first-run episode was broadcast on April 28, 1958. George Reeves starred as Clark Kent/Superman with Phyllis Coates as the original Lois Lane. In 1953 Noel Neill, who had previously played Lois in two serials, replaced Coates from the second season onward. Jack Larson played Jimmy Olsen and John Hamilton was Perry White. Robert Shayne played the semi-regular character Inspector Henderson of the Metropolis Police Department.

The cops find a small box containing marijuana and put two-and-two together, the reefer is making the kids go wild! Turns out that teenage Johnny is pushing weed, yellow jackets, goof balls and "H." His friend tells the police but it's too late...Johnny takes a hot shot and ODs!

Our Review
This episode is one of the best known of the Dragnet series. It was especially heart wrenching on radio. This is one of my favorites. It was one of the shows that followed after Barton Yarborough's untimely death and Joe Friday had to get another partner! There were some comments by others about the age of the boy. The show was in 1952. If he was born in 1935, that would make him 16 or 17 in 1952. I think the kid is great.
